- Start with Figma's published MCP skills such as figma-use and figma-generate-library
- Write a SKILL.md with a clear title, when-to-use scenarios, and an ordered procedure
- Put the first rule first: always search the published library before creating anything new
- Encode token taxonomy, semantic vs primitive guidance, component naming, and do's and don'ts
- Add at least one concrete example of expected input and output
- Sit the custom skill on top of figma-use, keep skills small and composable, and document recurring gotchas
